Christian Denzler
Christian Denzler (born 1966 in Winterthur) studied architecture at the ETH Zurich. Since 1995 he lives and works as a freelance artist in Bern and Brussels. Promoted early by the Bernese collector and gallery owner Toni Gerber, he has had numerous solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad since 1986. In addition to his drawing work, installations and object art, he also repeatedly deals with language, writes poems, prose and texts on the oeuvre of friendly artists. His works are part of art museums’ collections in Bern, Solothurn and Lucerne, of the Aargauer Kunsthaus Aarau, the Seedam Cultural Center in Pfäffikon, the Centre Pasquart in Biel, as well as of the collections of the city and canton of Bern. Denzler has been awarded several prizes and scholarships, including the Aeschlimann-Corti Prize of the Canton of Bern in 1998 and 2006, the Rome Scholarship in 1999, and the Travel Scholarship of the ETH Zurich in 1993.
