Arno Nollen is interested in the „in-between“. He traces „non-places“ and their inhabitants in an unpretentious yet persistent way. His sometimes very intimate portraits of people and places are evidences of the incomparable creative force he’s using to create his works. The photographs communicate the artist’s great empathy, with which he continues to explore the mysterious in-between spaces of human existence. Relentlessy and tirelessly he screens the mind of a country based on its residents. He immerses into the abysses of society and exposes its „conscience“ with great empathy, but mercilessly. In Bern he shows architectural photography and sensual portraits, which explore the boundaries of documentary and fashion photography, but also pornography.
