Bernhard Huwiler / Martin Möll ‹Tweeking the Ordinary›

Bernhard Huwiler (1957-2021) lived and worked in Bern as a draftsman, performer, visual artist, filmmaker, cultural activist and psychiatrist. He showed a remarkable range of interests. His work encompasses painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture, architectural design, typography, as well as installation, performance and conceptual art. A consistent theme of his artistic practice has been a fascination with signs, symbols, mechanisms, archetypes, origins and codes, ranging from the tangible to the immaterial, from the mundane to the extraordinary. He was also very interested in storytelling; Stories, be they real, fictional, mythical, psychopathological or theological. His art displays a strong intelligence, an unusual maturity, a wonderful subtlety, and a wry sense of humour.

Martin Möll (1972-2019) lived and worked as an artist and photographer in Bern. His work ranges from classic to experimental photography to installation and performance.
«For me, photography is the appropriate means of searching, in order to bring the power and magic of the overlooked and not noteworthy to the fore, to put the most diverse things in context and to give these things an order. I’m less interested in social or political aspects and more in the perception of forms and light, the differences in what is always the same.»
