Gian Losinger
Gian Losinger expresses his art in a world of everyday images in the medium of photography. They can be seen as still lifes, moments of subtle liveliness and poetry of everyday life, which the artist has a special appreciation for when observing and capturing them. In their momentariness, they inscribe themselves, as it were, in the history of vanitas images, oscillating between beauty and sadness, revival and transience. The works challenge us to question our own view of the world and to be open to a different, approachable and playful way of looking at and dealing with our surroundings. Often it is everyday things that fascinate the artist, because there’s a hidden quality in most of them in them. “I try to look at the world with open eyes and an open heart and capture this attempt in pictures.”
